Several forms of reducer gearboxbox failure

Plusieurs formes de défaillance de boîte de vitesses réducteur

The reducer gearbox is a very important part device, and it is also widely used. Moreover, the gears of the reducer are often located in the key parts of the mechanical equipment, so the wear failure of the gears will bring great losses to the equipment, and the failure of the gears is often caused by the failure of the gear teeth. Understanding the gear mechanism of the reducer can help us better solve this problem. Come and follow the editor to see several forms of gear failure of the reducer!

1. Broken teeth cause gear failure

The failure caused by gear fracture is a serious situation in the whole mechanical engineering, mainly including overload fracture, fatigue fracture, random fracture and so on. For overload breakage, it refers to the tooth breakage that occurs when the gear is subjected to one or more severe overloads. In this case, the fracture of the gear is generally located at the root of the gear, and the fracture is generally flat and rough.

There are many measures to prevent gear breakage, such as increasing the root fillet radius, removing machining tool marks in this section, to reduce the stress concentration at the root, improving the stiffness and support of the shaft to reduce local stress, and to the gear teeth. The surface is subjected to cold treatment such as shot peening and rolling to improve the tooth surface.

2. The tooth surface is worn and cannot be driven

In the transmission à engrenages process of the reducer, the wear of the tooth surface is inevitable. Flank wear also includes adhesive wear, abrasive wear, scratching, corrosive wear and burns. For adhesive wear, it mainly refers to lubrication. If the lubricant layer is complete and thick, metal-to-metal contact is reduced and wear does not occur.

If the gears are matched correctly, the wear scars are not caused by asperities on the pool surface, and the wear of the entire gear will extend to most areas. Corrosive wear refers to the chemical reaction of certain substances in the lubricant with the metal on the tooth surface, causing the metal to corrode.

3. Tooth surface pitting and bonding

In the process of gear transmission, the contact stress at each point on the contact surface presents a pulsating cyclic change. After a period of time on the contact surface, cracks occur due to metal fatigue, and metal spalling and pitting are formed when the cracks propagate. This situation can be prevented by increasing the tooth surface hardness and reducing the tooth surface roughness.

In the case of high speed, heavy load or lubrication failure, local high temperature will be formed on the surface of the gear, and the contact surface will be bonded. This condition is called bonding. To prevent sticking, the hardness and finish of the gear surface should be improved. For different types of gears, different steel grades should be used, and the correct selection of lubricating oil is an important measure to reduce gear failure.

4. Failure caused by plastic deformation of tooth surface

Plastic deformation mainly includes ripple and ridge extension caused by rolling and hammer deformation, which is mainly due to the soft gear material, causing the metal to flow in the direction of friction. Changes in temperature and humidity in the gear working environment can also cause plastic deformation of the tooth surface. The lubricating oil with higher viscosity can be used to prevent plastic deformation and improve the hardness of the tooth surface.

In the actual work, understand the machinery and equipment, so as to know the truth.
